Fish species include King George Yellow Fin whiting, snapper, snook and Australian herring, as well as blue swimmer crabs when in season. Cowell boasts one of the best boat ramps in Australia adjacent to a very popular jetty, within easy walking distance of the caravan park. A council maintained childrens playground and lawned area is also adjacent to the park.
