For instance, thirty of the 19-century stone buildings in the Scottish town of Strathalbyn are heritage-listed. At the river port of Goolwa, wood-fired paddle steamers offer cruises from the wharf and river cruises ply into nearby Coorong National Park where birdwatchers, campers and walkers can enjoy the natural setting. At the seaside town of Victor Harbor take the horse-drawn tram across to Granite Island, enjoy lunch with a seaview and stay on to watch the fairy penguins return home to roost at dusk.
